Schedule

Participants who cannot attend the entire workshop should be sure to attend the Tuesday morning sessions!

Monday 1-4pm: Programming the 1010data System

The 1010data architecture, API's, and programming languages. This session is aimed at experienced programmers who want to quickly delve into the technical details of the system. Participants will be given problems to implement and discuss the next afternoon.

Tuesday 9-10:15am: A Users Guide to the 1010data System

Introduction to the 1010data system through its graphical user interface. Examples of applications. All participants should attend.

Tuesday 10:30am-12noon: Data Science Needs & Opportunities

Participants will describe the kinds of data analytics problems and algorithms that arise in their research and teaching. Based on the what we have learned, we brainstorm opportunities for collaboration. All participants should attend.

Tuesday 12-1pm: Working Lunch (Provided)

Over lunch, we will break into subgroups to develop the ideas for collaboration into project plans, specifying benefits and resources needed.

Tuesday 1-2pm: Collaboration Planning Action Items

Subgroups will report back to the larger group and identify action items.

Tuesday 2-3pm: Technical Wrap-Up

Participants from Monday's programming class will present and discuss their solutions to the homework problems and technical questions about the 1010data system with the 1010data experts.
